Oregon Licensed Furnace Repair, Bonded and Insured
Comfy HVAC repairs and maintains furnaces for homes across Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties, from no-heat diagnostic calls to seasonal tune-ups that include safety and carbon monoxide checks. We are based in Clackamas (CCB #223103), so Happy Valley, Milwaukie, Gladstone, Oregon City, Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview, Sandy, and the rest of the east and southeast metro get our fastest response.
We document what we find with photos, price any repair against the furnace's remaining life, and let you decide with the facts in front of you. We are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, a five-star rated contractor on Google, and an Energy Trust of Oregon trade ally.
You deserve someone who fixes what is actually wrong.
We understand that when the heat goes out, everything else gets put on hold. You need someone who knows what they are doing, finds the real problem, and gets your house warm again quick.
You're likely wanting a company who will:
- Actually diagnose instead of replacing parts until it works.
- Explain what is wrong in a way you can follow.
- Charge for what the job actually costs.
- Fix what can be fixed, and only bring up replacement when it genuinely makes sense.
This Is Where Comfy Comes In
When furnace problems arise, we show up quickly, diagnose the real issue, and give you a clear recommendation you can trust.
- We repair first when a repair makes sense
- Our technicians are not paid on commission. We only recommend replacement when it is truly necessary.
- We document what we find with photos and clear notes so you can approve and move forward without confusion
What an Honest Furnace Service Call Looks Like
-
Respect for Your Home
We arrive on time, protect the work area, and clean up before we leave.
-
Safety and CO Checks
Every tune-up includes a safety inspection and a carbon monoxide check, because a furnace fault can be a health issue, not just a comfort one.
-
Photo Documented Findings
You see photos of what we found, so a cracked heat exchanger or a failing igniter is something you can verify, not just take on faith.
-
Priced Before We Start
We price the repair in writing before any work begins, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
-
Repair First
We fix what can be fixed and only recommend replacement when the repair cost no longer makes sense against the furnace's remaining life, or when a safety issue calls for it.
-
90-Day Service Call Warranty
Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on the original service call, so if the same problem returns in that window, you are not paying twice to get the heat back on.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my furnace blow cold air or keep shutting off?
Short cycling and cold air usually point to a dirty flame sensor, a failing igniter, a clogged filter restricting airflow, or a safety control shutting the furnace down on purpose. The last one matters, because a furnace that keeps shutting off is often protecting you from a real fault. We diagnose the cause, show you what we found, and price the repair before starting.
Why does my furnace smell like it is burning?
At the first burn of the season, usually dust burning off the heat exchanger, and it clears within an hour or so. A burning smell that persists, or smells electrical or like plastic, is not normal — shut the furnace off and call us. We check the heat exchanger and combustion on every visit, and a cracked exchanger is a safety issue we will show you rather than just describe.
What safety checks does a furnace tune-up include?
Every tune-up includes a carbon monoxide check and a safety inspection of the heat exchanger and combustion. This matters more than efficiency, because a cracked heat exchanger can put CO into the home. If we find a safety issue we show you the evidence and explain your options plainly, including the option to stop using the furnace until it is resolved.
How much does a furnace repair cost?
A service call is $150 per hour with a one-hour minimum, and any parts are billed separately. We diagnose the problem and tell you what the repair will cost before we start, so the number you approve is the number you pay. If the furnace cannot be repaired, or replacement makes more sense, the quote for a new system is free.
When does repairing an old furnace stop making sense?
When the repair cost approaches a meaningful share of a replacement and the furnace is near the end of its service life. A major repair on a unit with little life left rarely pencils, while a minor fix on one with years ahead can buy several seasons. We put the repair cost against the remaining life in writing, with photos, so the decision stays yours.
